Treasurers
Report
- The
Treasurer reported that we held over £9,000 which was made up of £6,700
in the bank and £2,500 from sponsorship
- It
should have £3,000 to £4,000 in the bank by the end of the season.
Result
Secretary
- It
was explained that the packages contained all result sheets for all
age groups.
- If
a manager at a club had any issues through the season they should use
the correct communication path, which was on club headed paper and
sent to the League Secretary.
- It
was hoped to put the new or revised rule changes in a different colour
but this was too cost prohibitive.
- At
the AGM there had been concern over junior umpires and the Executive
was concerned over ‘Duty of Care’. The ECB had been contacted on
this and were in the process of coming up with a ruling in the mean
time they recommend that the League makes its own recommendation until
a ruling is available. Action:
Recommend that an Umpire be 19 years of age to cover this.
- In
future clubs are to nominate a player of the season from each age
group.
A nomination Form had been prepared and issued to clubs in the pack.
- The
pack also contains an Age Group calculator, and all email contacts of
clubs listed.
Child
Welfare
- Club
Welfare Officers must attend the course on a three-year cycle and it
was said that the early ones would now be up coming up for renewal and
clubs should be aware.
Steve Holliday will be running several courses.
- Haig
Parry has asked all clubs to do a Survey on CRB checked persons and
all clubs should complete and return these forms as quickly as
possible.
- There
were hard copies of all relevant CRB paperwork in the packs provided.
- The
five new clubs have all been given the Safe Hands booklet.
- The
package has a list showing all people at a club who should be CRB
checked and those requiring a Self Certification form.
- It
is very important to make sure
all CRB forms are up to date Haig has asked that the Survey forms are
completed and returned within one month. Clubs were reminded that it
was their responsibility to keep these up to date not the Leagues.
- Self Certification forms should be used as a stop gap whilst any CRB
forms are being done.
- The safe way was to obtain CRB for all players and official
- Surridge
Sports had been invited to attend but were not represented
Trophy
Return
- The
new system is working well. In 2006 people were searching for trophies
before finals and in some cases there were no trophies there. In 2007
All trophies had been returned and given out. Clubs must co-operate in
this matter and return by the due date. Action:
All clubs who had a trophy had been informed and would be fined £25
if the deadline was not met.
Coaching
- Under 10 winter coaching had gone well with 30 players taking part
and had a trial match planned for May 18th
- There was an Introduction to Cricket Coaching award planned through
the Spen Valley Cricket
Development Group. It is hoped parents will take this up and it is
booked for 23rd May.
- District sides at under 11, 12,and 13 were being organised in
conjunction with Spen Valley Cricket development Group. The under 13s
have been entered into the Chairmans Cup competition.
- In October a level 1 coaching course with the level 2 the following
year. Places will be offered to
the Spen Valley clubs first and then open to all clubs.
Any

- 2009
is the Jubilee year for the League and any ideas to celebrate this
would be welcomed from the clubs.
