LAW 31            TIMED OUT

 1. Time allowed for either (a) the incoming batsman to be in position to take guard OR (b) his partner ready to receive the next ball is a maximum of 3 minutes after the fall of the previous wicket.

2. On appeal, the incoming batsman will be given Out if this requirement is not met.

3. The dismissal will be recorded as "Timed Out", and the bowler does not get credit for the wicket.

4. If there is protracted delay, and no appeal is made, the umpires must ascertain the reason for the delay.
