Law 17 PRACTICE ON THE FIELD OF PLAY
1. There shall be no bowling or batting practice (a) on the pitch or the area parallel and immediately adjacent to the pitch at any time on any day of the match (b) on any other part of the square, except before the start, or after the close of play.
2. Practice on the square before the start of play must end not later than 30 minutes before the scheduled or rescheduled time for play to start.
3. The umpires should not allow practice on the square at ant time if it will be detrimental to the surface of the square.
4. The umpires should not allow any practice on the field of play between the call of "Play" and the call of "Time" if time is thereby wasted.

If a player wastes time by practicing on the (a) pitch, or on any area
immediately adjacent to it, at any time on any day of the match OR (b) any other
part of the square on any day of the the match except before the start of play
or after the close of play- HE SHALL NOT be allowed to bowl until his side have
completed at least 5 full overs after the contravention.
Part of an uncompleted over shall not count as one of the 5 overs.
6. A bowler may not have a trial run-up between the call of "Play" and the call of "Time" if, in the opinion of the umpire, time would be wasted.
