COVERING
THE PITCH
1.Complete covering of the pitch is allowed before the start of the match.
2. The ground authority must allow the umpires and captains to inspect the pitch before the nomination of players.
3. Once the match begins, complete covering is not allowed unless there are special regulations in place, or prior agreement.
4. Covers should be removed as promptly as possible whenever the weather permits.
5. If there is no agreement to cover the pitch in inclement weather, the bowlers run-ups shall be covered whenever possible
6. If the bowlers run-up is covered, the covers must not extend more than 5 feet in front of the popping crease.
7. If covers are used during inclement weather they should be removed promptly when conditions allow.
