In comparison cricket played in the Heavy Woollen District has occupied only a short, but eventful, period 
in cricketing history, which commenced in 1949. 
Catering for just one age group at its conception it now provides organized cricket for the
Under 9's,11's,13's,15's and 17's age groups

Presented to the league by Allen and Lynne Baxter and dedicated to the memory of their son Dale

THE GEOFF BRADBY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

(Geoff was a former President of the League from 1974  until 1987.He died in 1991)

The Geoff Bradby Memorial Scholarship made provision for a player to be 
sent by the Heavy Woollen District Junior Cricket League to the Yorkshire Summer Coaching School, 
at Scarborough, at no cost to the individual. 
Clubs were systematically given the opportunity to nominate the player of their choice.
